Exciting news this morning that Akumin (NASDAQ/TSX: AKU) has partnered with Profound Medical (NASDAQ: PROF; TSX: PRN) to provide state-of-the-art prostate care through a combination of Akumin’s diagnostic imaging capabilities and Profound’s Tulsa-Pro® robotically-driven, minimally-invasive ablation system.
The partnership is part of a broader Akumin initiative to introduce a new service offering dedicated to providing innovative men’s health care services in certain Akumin facilities. This revolutionary technology will initially be installed in 10 locations in Florida, one of the largest markets for prostate care in the US, where Akumin has an industry-leading position in outpatient imaging.
This news follows the announcement earlier this week that Akumin has closed the acquisition of 7 additional clinics in Florida, and now operates 79 clinics across the state.
